Kender are a race of small-statured, happy-go-lucky humanoids. They’re typically very friendly, but have a bad habit of “borrowing” things that belong to other people, or finding things in their many pouches that just happened to fall in. Kender do not consider themselves thieves, and tend to be taken aback when accused of such. As such, they’re typically considered the scourge of Krynn. They are completely immune to fear, and are constantly looking for new adventures and interesting experiences. A popular saying is “There is nothing quite as dangerous as a bored kender.”
At a young age, kender become inflicted with Wanderlust, an insatiable hunger for adventure and exploration. Upon reaching adulthood, Wanderlust sets in, and the kender leaves Kendermore after being entrusted with his or her trusty hoopak staff. If they survive their travels, the kender will return to Kendermore to start a family, and the cycle continues. As constant travelers, they tend to spend most of their nights in prisons. Most prisons have a designated “kender cell” that contains all of the kender picked up during the course of the day.
